Welcome to the Wine-Down!

It’s Thursday. That means it’s almost Friday. And that means it’s time to break out the wine and celebrate surviving another week of motherhood, mayhem and just barely making it. Go you! Not that the weekend is full of free time for brunches, pedis and all-day shopping sprees. If your weekends are anything like mine you’re dreading multiple birthday parties, gift shopping, soccer games, and hours-long choruses of “I’m still hungryyyyyy!!!” Not to mention the two events we’re hosting at our home this weekend, which means EXTRA CLEANING! *insert streaming tears emoji* Know what, skip the glass. Just gimme the bottle. Cheers!

This Week’s Wine

Ménage à Trois Silk is our wine of the week and believe me, the name says it all. Not the ménage à trois part, the silk part. *awkward pause* Anywho… WINE! YAY! As you know, I’m a fan of the reds. This one caught my eye because I’ve had Ménage à Trois’s California Red Blend and Cabernet Sauvignon before. I enjoyed both, so naturally I wanted to see how Silk fared compared to the others.

  A Taste of Silk

Silk is 70% Pinot Noir, 20% Malbec, and 10% Petite Sirah. This full-bodied beauty is super aromatic and very smooth (hence its name). You’ll taste lots of red berries and a hint of spice. There are floral notes in there too, and they’re just right. This blend isn’t too dry, so if you’re not into drier reds you may enjoy Silk. The flavor didn’t stay on my palette too long. In fact it actually changed after a moment, giving me a better taste of the flavors that were only hinted at before. Read more about what you can expect from Silk here.

I liked Silk. I think I like the California Red Blend better, but Silk is still very good. What do you think? We’d love to know! Enjoy and drink responsibly!
