This What to Wear Wednesday is all about lines, well stripes if we’re being specific. Shot by Ashieka of We Captured You Photography, we literally were at the end of the line in a rail yard!
Y’all know I love a good romper or jumpsuit. Don’t get me wrong I love putting together a layered look but nothing beats throwing on a no fuss one piece that’s easy to style! I bought this romper from my go to store for cute and inexpensive items, Forever 21. It’s been in my closet, unworn, for over 2 years, YIKES!
1MommyMD. What do you do when you’re planning a party and an item you need is unavailable? It’s time to DIY! If you don’t know, DIY stands for Do It Yourself. Sunday I threw my daughter a fiesta themed party for her 2nd birthday. I’d come across the cutest fiesta cookies on Instagram earlier in the planning process and was set on having some made for the party. Unfortunately, the business I wanted to use was booked solid for two months. I thought about it; I love to bake and have a creative streak so I decided to make the fiesta themed cookies myself!
I LOVE a good maxi skirt and a bold print; put them both together and bam instant fabulousness! One thing I love about incorporating a print, is how that item of clothing can carry a look. It becomes your statement piece and all other articles of clothing merely compliment it.
For my daughter’s 2nd birthday party, I had to fit the FIESTA theme so an off the shoulder flounce crop top and full flowing skirt seemed in order. The top I got a few months ago from Forever 21. The skirt is from several months ago and was purchased at Akira.
I LOVE a good romper! No need to fuss with multiple pieces of an outfit when you can get an effortless and chic look all in one. It’s even better when said romper is vintage with a modern flair. I love fashion for its ability to transcend an era. Today’s look is a 80s halter style romper with a beautiful palette that reminds me of watercolors. I paired it with some of my favorite marigold earrings and shoes.
When the wind is in your favor go with it! It was a pretty windy day when these pics were snapped but it worked perfectly for what I was wearing! Everything I’m wearing is past season. The printed culotte romper is from Target, the black sheer coverup is from Urban Outfitters and the necklace is from Charming Charlie.
As I scrolled through pictures for today’s post this song, made famous by the incomparable Nina Simone, immediately came to mind.
Blue Skies, Denim & BOW Ties. I found this awesome jumpsuit a few months back and couldn’t wait to throw it on! It’s a lightweight one piece I snagged from asos.com. It’s simple and effortlessly chic! I paired it with another fabulous BOW tie from Meyelabel. THIS is how you wear a romper!!
I’m a sucker for a good find, be it at a department store, target or a vintage shop. The highlight of this look is a super cute thrifty find, current season, from my fave Forever 21! The options for the neon pink sheer frock are endless; it could be worn over jeans, shorts or a swimsuit to name a few! The royal blue tank is Forever 21 and the royal blue skirt is past season asos. The shoes are past season Steve Madden. Sunglasses are current season Aldo. Clutch is past season.
To grow and deliver a tiny human being is no small feat. The impact of pregnancy on the human body can vary drastically from one person to the next. Some women come out unscathed while others have lasting scars and/or conditions to remind them of their journey to motherhood. In fact many try, to no avail, to conceive spontaneously only to be faced with years of infertility or recurrent pregnancy loss. Some mommies have lovingly adopted children or welcomed bonus babies into their blended families. So, with families nationwide celebrating Mother’s Day today, I wanted to take a look at pregnancy and motherhood from the perspective of a few mom friends.
Nothing says spring like flowers or floral print. In the spirit of ushering in more beautiful weather I’ve donned a great floral wiggle dress. The fabric of this dress is a perfect weight and can be worn nearly year round with the right pairings. The dress is past season asos.com. One of the things I love about my wardrobe is that I can get a lot of wear out of the staples because they are so versatile. Additionally, below are a few ways to get more bang for your buck when it comes to styling.
I had the pleasure of attending my cousin and her now husband’s wedding in LA last weekend. The sunny skies and palm trees were a sight for sore eyes coming from Chicago! It was a great weekend reconnecting with family over the celebratory event.
I love black and white. The possibilities are endless. Any colors can be added, giving a vibrant pop to your look! So for this look, I paired a crisp eyelet blouse with dramatic ruffled sleeves and a black pencil skirt. A beautiful handcrafted bow by Meyelabel is the perfect compliment. A hand tied scarf and a pair of tribal inspired black and white pumps round out the look!
