Fashion, trends, and accessories!
Jordyn is putting her Christmas gifts to good use! She was headed to church when we decided to take a few photos. She is rocking her pink fur coat from The Gap and her brown boot wedges from DSW. The matching pink purse was donated from a friend this past weekend and she hasn’t put it down yet! Check out the pics from our impromptu photo shoot!
Tees and Tea!
Our mommy group is at it again! We sipped the tea, spilled the tea, and showed off our tees! Welcome to Mom Ditch Day, where moms take a break from it all to celebrate ourselves! We throw our day party event 4 times a year to do nothing other than chat, laugh, dance, laugh some more, and sip on fabulous drinks! Our last theme was “Black Friday Came Early,” in line with the upcoming holiday season. But this time we let our hair down with silly, sarcastic, and sassy slogan tees with our “Tees and Tea” theme.
There are many many reasons why the color Black will always be in. From the slimming effect to the fact that it simply makes essentially everything look great. But there is something special about black on black looks. They are effortless and moody yet still chic and edgy. I paired this look together using some beautiful pieces that I recently purchased so you should still be able to find each item that I’ll be discussing below.
Lauren Kent, mother of three young boys, was sitting in a park in Chicago’s south-side Beverly neighborhood with her fellow neighbor and mommy friend Shanya Gray in June of 2013 when they came up with a brilliant idea.
What comes to mind when you hear the word SIREN? An alarm? Fire trucks? A fascinating woman? I couldn’t help but think of “fire engine red” when writing about this coat.

Welcome to Mom Ditch Day, where moms take a break from it all to celebrate ourselves!
Three years ago I started a mom group on Facebook. It wasn’t just any Facebook group, but a group that would be carefully crafted and tailored to moms that were the upmost supportive on all of our motherhood journeys.
What’s better than one way to wear pants? Two! There’s nothing better than wardrobe versatility. I especially love if I can wear items year round. Appropriate layering and a change up of accessories can dramatically alter a look and get you more bang for your buck!
Fall is here! And it’s time to break out the leather! Well, faux leather to be exact. This jacket is last year’s Target line. The dress and shoes are from Meijer. Holup, don’t laugh or sleep on Meijer, let me explain what happened here!
If I’m ever missing a pair of shades, they are most likely in the possession of this little diva right here! She is literally my mini me and likes all the same accessories I like. Her fall dress is perfect for the changing of the seasons since it has 3/4 length sleeves. It’s Target’s most addictive line, Cat & Jack. The sparkle shoes (that coincidentally match the sparkle heart of the dress) are from H&M. The shades are from Charlotte Russe. Check out her backyard photo shoot below!
I remember when a Gap commercial came out in the late 90s, set to the tune of Donovan’s Mellow Yellow. It was such a catchy tune but more importantly it featured one of my favorite shades of yellow, Saffron. In today’s look I’m soaked in Saffron!! Since the Chicago weather is looking more like summer than fall, I’ve made every opportunity to extend light weight pieces “out of season.”
I paired a flowing mock wrap maxi dress purchased at Akira a year or two ago with a bold statement necklace from Charming Charlie and a fabulous Etniciti clutch to a dear friend’s birthday celebration. My sunglasses are several seasons past from Ann Taylor Loft.
Diner en Blanc. The phenomenon, originating in Paris 29 years ago with 8,000 guests, stretches over 6 continents where people receive an exclusive invitation to flash-gather in a secret place, and perform an extravagant pop-up dining experience…. all white everything. White linen tablecloths, jewels and pearls, beautiful table settings. Tablescapes that will blow your mind away! And I was there for it all! This year I was invited as a guest and decided to chronicle the event! Here are the photos of my mom friends that were of the 4,000 in attendance in Chicago.
If my daughter could have her way, she would wear dresses every single day! We took a trip to her new school so she could test out the playground before her big day. The dress doesn’t stop her from being rough and tough! We purchased this cute little peplum dress off the clearance rack for $7 from my favorite store, H&M.
