Fashion, trends, and accessories!
If I’m ever missing a pair of shades, they are most likely in the possession of this little diva right here! She is literally my mini me and likes all the same accessories I like. Her fall dress is perfect for the changing of the seasons since it has 3/4 length sleeves. It’s Target’s most addictive line, Cat & Jack. The sparkle shoes (that coincidentally match the sparkle heart of the dress) are from H&M. The shades are from Charlotte Russe. Check out her backyard photo shoot below!
I remember when a Gap commercial came out in the late 90s, set to the tune of Donovan’s Mellow Yellow. It was such a catchy tune but more importantly it featured one of my favorite shades of yellow, Saffron. In today’s look I’m soaked in Saffron!! Since the Chicago weather is looking more like summer than fall, I’ve made every opportunity to extend light weight pieces “out of season.”
I paired a flowing mock wrap maxi dress purchased at Akira a year or two ago with a bold statement necklace from Charming Charlie and a fabulous Etniciti clutch to a dear friend’s birthday celebration. My sunglasses are several seasons past from Ann Taylor Loft.
Diner en Blanc. The phenomenon, originating in Paris 29 years ago with 8,000 guests, stretches over 6 continents where people receive an exclusive invitation to flash-gather in a secret place, and perform an extravagant pop-up dining experience…. all white everything. White linen tablecloths, jewels and pearls, beautiful table settings. Tablescapes that will blow your mind away! And I was there for it all! This year I was invited as a guest and decided to chronicle the event! Here are the photos of my mom friends that were of the 4,000 in attendance in Chicago.
If my daughter could have her way, she would wear dresses every single day! We took a trip to her new school so she could test out the playground before her big day. The dress doesn’t stop her from being rough and tough! We purchased this cute little peplum dress off the clearance rack for $7 from my favorite store, H&M.
If this look isn’t the definition of lush then I don’t know what is! A local forest preserve provided a beautiful backdrop for this look. The bright bold floral print, on this strapless hips free vintage dress, stood out against the greenery. Even better, the dress has nice deep pockets, making its wear even more effortless. I paired it with simple black strappy sandals and lime green chandelier earrings.
My daughter loves dresses, shoes, and purses! This little girl’s Coach purse is her favorite. Although the purse is empty (lol) she still carries it around to complete her look!
Y’all know I love a good romper or jumpsuit. Don’t get me wrong I love putting together a layered look but nothing beats throwing on a no fuss one piece that’s easy to style! I bought this romper from my go to store for cute and inexpensive items, Forever 21. It’s been in my closet, unworn, for over 2 years, YIKES!
I LOVE a good maxi skirt and a bold print; put them both together and bam instant fabulousness! One thing I love about incorporating a print, is how that item of clothing can carry a look. It becomes your statement piece and all other articles of clothing merely compliment it.
For my daughter’s 2nd birthday party, I had to fit the FIESTA theme so an off the shoulder flounce crop top and full flowing skirt seemed in order. The top I got a few months ago from Forever 21. The skirt is from several months ago and was purchased at Akira.
I LOVE a good romper! No need to fuss with multiple pieces of an outfit when you can get an effortless and chic look all in one. It’s even better when said romper is vintage with a modern flair. I love fashion for its ability to transcend an era. Today’s look is a 80s halter style romper with a beautiful palette that reminds me of watercolors. I paired it with some of my favorite marigold earrings and shoes.
What do you do with a little girl that loves her dresses? Fancy her in dresses! My daughter has always appreciated dresses and loves picking out new styles. Luckily, most of her ensembles are very affordable and don’t hurt mama’s pocket. This candy-striped sundress number was under $5 from our favorite place, H&M. She hand-picked her sandals from Old Navy.
Before we headed out for a Sunday birthday party, she posed by a flowerbed. We also visited a tractor that has been parked in our neighborhood for so long that my kids affectionately named him. Seeing as how Martin The Tractor didn’t seem to mind, we snapped a few quick pics with him too! See all her pics below.
When the wind is in your favor go with it! It was a pretty windy day when these pics were snapped but it worked perfectly for what I was wearing! Everything I’m wearing is past season. The printed culotte romper is from Target, the black sheer coverup is from Urban Outfitters and the necklace is from Charming Charlie.
This past weekend, I was honored to serve on my sister’s baby shower committee! Two babies, double trouble, double the sass. Now I love dress shopping, but I wanted to find the perfect number for this special occasion. I needed something that said elegant, sexy, sassy, and a little funky. This H&M dress said all of those things, so I scooped it up the moment I saw it! H&M does not have every line at every store, nor do they make every dress available online. But here is a link to some similar styles. The earrings are from Forever 21, and the gold pumps are Jessica Simpson, on clearance at DSW!
