Who are We?
We are a group of 4 dynamic and fun-loving moms that love to keep it sassy. With backgrounds in Journalism, Education, Child Development and Social Work, we all bring a different perspective of motherhood to the table. We laugh at mishaps, learn from our mistakes, leverage our strength and most importantly, support each other along our shared journey. Our passion is motherhood, and we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for moms to celebrate it together.
We have an amazing extended team of our favorite bloggers from many different backgrounds. Guest contributors also drop in all the time and tell their stories as well. Look out for the array of sassy content as we make our way through different mom topics.
Why are We Here?
So often, moms get lost in the shuffle of daily life. It can get incredibly busy, and many of us struggle to find “me time” or practice healthy forms of self-care. We tend to put our own physical and mental health on the back-burner to focus primarily on our family and household. Team Sassy completely understands that struggle for balance, and we are here to bring you the support you need. Sassy Plum is a cozy place where moms can find fun, interesting content through blogs, vlogs, advice, helpful tips, and other interesting content. We are here to give you life and let you know you are not alone on this beautiful journey.
We are so happy you’re here, and we’re honored to be a part of your circle. We hope you’ll enjoy being a part of our fierce and fabulous community!

Kiana Keys (Sassy K)Writer
I am dedicated, yet imperfect. Silly, yet determined. Sweet, yet sassy. I am your average mother, wife, daughter, and sister. I embrace femininity and strive to juggle all of life’s curve-balls. Although my career brings me great joy, my most important occupation is a dedicated mother of three beautiful children (and other duties as assigned). In addition, I also enjoy social media surfing, bingeing on Netflix, and laughing at myself! I hold a B.A. in Psychology, and a M.S. in Public Service Management. Having completed my graduate program while raising a family, I have a deep appreciation for multitasking and success despite life’s obstacles. After working in the field of higher education for 10 years, I tremendously value knowledge and empowerment through learning and community. Motherhood is my passion, and I love to encourage moms to realize their individual purpose. Our perseverance takes us to new heights, our possibilities are endless. I am here to remind each and every one of you of your value. I welcome you into our beloved and sacred community of motherhood.
Kim Khan (Kim Sassy)Writer
Hi! I’m Kim Khan, a sassy wife & momma of 2 very inquisitive boys ages 6 & 1.5, with a lighthearted girl in the middle at age 5. My love for children inspired me to pursue a B. A. in Early Childhood Education from Illinois State University. I furthered my passion for helping young children learn by earning a M.A. in Curriculum & Instruction from Govenors State University. I’ve been an Early Childhood Educator in the public school system for the past 18 years, with 2 years experience in daycare settings. Along with teaching, I also enjoy traveling, kid crafts, following fashion & natural hair blogs, & conversations with loved ones & strangers alike. I love discovering and talking about all things mommy. My passion for sharing & learning new things gives me the inspiration to grow & have fun with others. Let’s embark on this expedition together!
Megan Poole (Sassy Meg)Writer
Hi, my name is Megan and I’m a momaholic. I’m a full time mother to three children (4, 3, and 10 months) and momming is my life. I was born and raised in Chicago and am a proud Fisk University Alum. I earned a master’s degree in social work at Washington University in St. Louis and have a professional background in child welfare, mental health, urban education and school social work. I love to cook, bake and craft with my kids, and I’m committed to living a fit, healthy lifestyle– minus all the cupcakes. I belong to several mom groups and organizations and spend my free time (read “when everyone is asleep”) reading, writing, organizing programs and events, and thinking of ways to share the things that inspire and encourage me with other mothers. I never saw myself becoming a stay-at-home mom, but here I am enjoying and making the most of it. I’m so excited to share my motherhood journey with you and hope to be a part of yours!
